Boyds Untethered #50

Saw this beauty growing in the yard of one of the Victorian homes in the Galveston Historic District. Lobster claw… is a large and showy perennial. Their leathery, dark green leaves are on 3-5ft stems rising directly from the ground. The flowers are enclosed in 6-8in pod and emerge from second year stalks to hang in showy clusters.

Lydia found and photographed some pretty cool rock cairns on the beach recently. A cairn is a human-made pile (or stack) of stones. The word cairn comes from the Scottish Gaelic: càrn[ˈkʰaːrˠn̪ˠ] (plural càirn[ˈkʰaːrˠɲ]).
